  1. Given that red usually means bad, the map makes everyone look bad except 2 countries.

Wrong map of Somaliland it self.

You added the “disputed area” between Somaliland and Puntland and add it to Puntland/Somalia.

You atleast should’ve used the control map to be accurate, half of that area is under Somaliland. You even took big cities under Somaliland like Erigavo and half of the coast out of it.

  3. I can’t understand why the US would fall out with all its other allies for the sake of Israel

  4. Spain will never ever support any breakaway state, because of their domestic issues. They’re still not recogniIng Kosovo, for instance.

The rest of Europe might someday recognize the reality of Somaliland and Hargeisa.

At the same time… Look at what happened in Nagorno Karabakh after 30 years of running an unrecognised independent state.

  5. Everybody likes talking about how much they support democracies and self determination until they actually have to do it. Somaliland had been a free republic for decades now. The world need to catch up.

Israel only recognized Somaliland to call out the hypocrisy of most Muslim countries claiming to uphold international law yet refuse to recognize a UN member state and want Palestine recognized and admitted to the UN on the basis of self determination.

  7. One of the few things which I agree with Israel and the US. Somaliland should become an independent country, hoping that they will bring more stability to the region as Somalia has been failing since their independence. They have the perfect place to be a big player in trade but the corruption and infighting in Somalia is ruining it.

Also shows the hypocrisy of many countries, they condemn publicly but still have their offices in Somaliland open specially the loudest ones (Turkey, Qatar, Saudi)

Wasn’t Taiwan the first to recognize Somaliland though. Funny it’s not on the list

  10. „affirms somalia’s unity but defends israel“ lol americans you never disappoint

The USA is planting its feet in two camps. It would be akin to the EU defending Turkish recognition of the TRNC while affirming Cypriot unity. Either one recognises Somaliland or not.

Definitely surprised South Sudan rejects recognition, lol. Where do they get off?!

Great work on the map! It’s really detailed but not too cluttered at the same time.

It is beyond me why so many nations would recognise a corpse over a living thing.

The right of peoples to self-determination… until I don’t like the results

The separatist one-clan enclave. Imagine other clans wants they own separate countries.
