Maybe Russia has been sharing the gas it used against the hostage takers in the Moscow theatre siege with the Iranians. Not surprised to see that the Iranians are getting tips from similarly morally deficient countries.

Wild how often mystery weapons are now deployed against their own people. Didnt something similar happen last year in serbia or so? With some kind of ultrasound weapon?

  4. Here’s a shocker.

These same gases used to disperse protesters **are war crimes if used in warfare according to the Chemical Warfare Convention,** but the CWC is only binding for warfare; it doesn’t make it illegal to use for crowd dispersal.

This being said, the reported characteristics aren’t consistent with nerve, blood or blister agents. It sounds like CS gas mixed in with some other chemical irritants to amplify their effect, but it doesn’t sound like agents dispensed for the purposes of maiming or killing.

In any case, the whole situation is a freaking nightmare for Iranians and I hope a peaceful resolution can be found soon.

  5. Assad’s nerve and incapacitating agent inventory had to go somewhere.

Apparently into the hands of “Grand Ayatollah” Khamenei with a Hezbollah escort and an IRGC reception party.

Where are the Gaza protestors on this one? Where is the outrage? Where are the protests to help our people?

Based on the accounts, at least one type of agent used was chlorine gas. The smell profile, color and symptoms all align with chlorine gas.

The level of PPE used during deployment of the agents by the IRGC also aligns with necessary measures to protect against chlorine gas poisoning.
