Man geht davon aus, dass Pierre Poilievre die Unterstützung der meisten Konservativen genießt. Seine Partei zusammenzuhalten, könnte eine andere Sache sein

I guess there really is no other alternative as leader. It would be more advantageous for conservatives to reign in their leader than have the leader wrangle supporters.
Wow, how? Is the party in such dire straits that they have no better alternative than a perennial loser? What happened to candidates the likes of MacKay and O’Toole?
I couldn’t care less for any of the 3 political parties in Canada but thank goodness he’s not the Prime Minister of Canada right now.
Is there any conservative voter who actually thinks PP could show leadership and statesmanship like Carney did at DAVOS?
Canadians, regardless of political affiliation need someone who we can be confident in dealing with the Pedo King from the south.
Keeping PP as the conservative leader would not only make sure they lose the next election but his “leadership” would also be the reason Canada will have trouble dealing with the rising American version of the Third Reich……just like the GOP in the states he would only obstruct, obstruct, obstruct to the detriment of all Canadians.
Slogans and fear mongering isn’t what Canadians need right now, we have enough of that coming from our American “friends”.
The conservatives only win with a strong NDP. The conservatives lost to Trudeau on 2015 but they almost had the same amount of votes as 2011 when they won. Getting 42% of the national vote usually means you cruise to victory. The NDP will rise again and the parties will rebalance.
Of course he’ll hold the party together.
They just won’t win any elections.
They are a victim to a staunchly loyal core that is too small and is repugnant to everyone else.
Liberals are all talk and no action, at least none that has a positive impact to us people living in this country. We keep hearing how great Carney is but as with Trudeau they just talk the talk while canadian quality life goes down the drain. The article from TheStar is part of the insidious propagandistic machine, it is not Poilievre’s fault that canada is in trouble yet this article is trying to paint a bad picture of Conservative leadership as if that is what matters to canadians at this point in time. What a joke how come media outlets like TheStar and CBC have absolutely no criticism to the Liberals but instead cant stop talking about a party that hasnt been in power in 15 years.
This illustrates how personality politics “Trump” competencies….It’s like backing a horse because he’s spirited in the coral, but has repeatedly lost every race and not accomplished a single ribbon in 20 years. This decision will ensure a Liberal majority, and so it should, as there should be a price to pay for sticking with a losing horse!
Rempel-Garner wrote in the Western Standard the other year about the CPC breaking back into PC and Reform after they push for proportional representation.
The support of a leader that is not liked by most Canadians (but liked by a plurality of Conservatives) is one of the biggest things wrong with politics today.
Members of a party would rather tacitly follow the mainstream so to not seem divided even though the choice is distasteful. Its party over country.
The same happens with Liberals and NDP and frankly is disgusting.
It can happen quickly. If a floor crosser sits as an “independent PC caucus” then they’d provide a supportive landing spot for moderates to restart a PC party.. and they’d only need 6 more to tie the NDP lol.
His base likes him because they consume a ton of American right wing media and he’s acting the most like an American right wing politician.
