      Chapter 7 of the UN Charter makes a duty of all members to stop such crimes against humanity. We need R2P invoked.

      And to the people here talking about Trump, get some perspective. Not everything is about the US. Sure, the idiot tried to make it about him and did shit as always, but the entire world is turning a blind eye to the protestors. Truth is, no power in the world gives a shit for human life. They only shed light on the tragedies that benefit their agenda.

      30,000 souls lost simply wanting to live free and happy lives. Imagine how unbelievably evil such people need to be to not only to deny them that in order to hold onto power, but to also carelessly snuff out their lives on a whim. I hope these brave people’s sacrifices are worth it in the end.

      If even half of that is true, this was one of the largest massacres of all time by a government against their population.

      That the article has to actually refer to the holocaust as a comparable scale of mass killings, is horrifying.

      I have to say if Time didnt report this I would be very skeptical of the numbers but it seems like either it was localized or roughly 7.5 deaths per 4000 locations which is still bad.

      It’s slowly becoming some daily numbers like the Ukraine war now. But in a sense this is worse. In wars civilians deaths are collateral. But the Iranian government is purposely slaughtering their civilians.

      I guarantee the numbers are much higher, I’ve heard that they finish off people with gunshot wounds who get into hospitals, they shoot up crowds indiscriminately, both at close range with shotguns and with snipers, there is a bunch of Iraqi terrorists who also crossed the border tot terrorize the Iranians. For a country of this size, and protests of this magnitude, the numbers are probably already several times higher than that number. It is a tragedy that agent orange encouraged people to go all out promising help yet does nothing and instead, focusing more on threatening allies and antagonizing people internally.

      As far as Trump stepping in, like Venezuela, he probably doesn’t want the actual opposition to take control. He wants leadership that will consider Trump first, and like he said in Venezuela that means leaving some of the bad guys in control. I think Trump will step in, a wartime scenario going into the elections is his best bet to maintain control and he desperately needs distractions now. So hopefully Khameni sees his end soon, maybe whoever Trump installs is better in some ways.
