  1. This seems like the biggest no brainer ever. This should have been stopped already. We’ve been asked to sacrifice a lot of our values lately but this is getting way ridiculous at this point. If we are serious at all about human rights in this country it seems to me the absolute lowest bar would be not sending weapons or equipment to those who trample all over them.

US government is going to do whatever they want to us anyways so might as well block this and maintain our values. Enabling that atrocious organization isn’t worth a few bucks.

    Anyone got Ford’s number still?

I know he can only see dollar signs ($$$) but we cannot support ICE in any way, shape or form after the many documented murders and kidnappings.

There’s also no guarantee these vehicles would not be used against us.

Just buy them up and send them to Ukraine as part of the existing program of support for that country.

The Trump will threaten us by not letting us buy F35’s and then Gripens it is!

  5. This is completely unpopular, especially on this sub, but considering most Americans can’t be bothered themselves, I no longer give 2 shits about America, Americans or their rights. They don’t want to save themselves, why should we try to save them. All I care about now is taking their money. After this last year of chaos, I’m still convinced that orange shitstain would win all over again if they had the chance to vote today. So sell them all the weapons. Fuck them.

  6. A company, not „Canada“, sells armoured vehicles to the US government under a USA GSA contract.

Terms of GSA contracts explicitly prohibit sellers from picking and choosing target departments of the US Executive Branch to sell to. Sellers must accept orders from all such departments.

US Customs and Border Protection / ICE falls under the Executive Branch.

Blocking this order/customer will open the possibility that the company is forbidden from doing business in the US, putting even more Canadian (and US) auto workers out of work. Killing off the major customer for this business might cause them to fold up shop in Canada.

Those of us who are not impacted financially can make our high and mighty arguments without paying a price.

If the situation with the US remains that we *want* to trade with them, we will have to abide by the rules of trade.

If we are locking up the border, content with diving into a deep recession or a depression for some time, there are a whole other set of concerns for us to worry about.
