The „India US“ FTA was termed as “ Mother of all deals“ before it collapsed when Trump sabotaged their relationship.
The EU would gain a first mover advantage over US in Indian markets Both EU and US seems to have put their respective trade deal with US on hold because of ever increasing hostility of Trump and his unreasonable demands and unstable policies..

Europe and the EU absolutely have to lessen their economic and trade reliance on the United States. Along with the EU-Mercosur Free Trade Agreement, this EU-India new strategic agenda would appear to make sense. The EU and Canada should also collaborate more closely on economic, investment and trade issues. Starmer and the EU should examine if there is any way at all to undo any of the damage done by Brexit.
