      Newsome will never come off as authentic to the general public. He’s going to have a lot of money and the party backing, but he ain’t gonna win an open primary.

      Yeah there’s an aura of snarky, “you’re all idiots” elitism that spews off of Newsom and I really don’t like it. And I don’t mean that politically. Newsom, as a person, strikes me as an arrogant, smarmy jackass.

      But considering that the right is fascist, if Newsom is the nominee then I hope we can all put down ideological purity for the sake of getting the Republicans out of office.

      We need someone from the Democratic side, or even the non-crazy pants Conservative side (i.e. not MAGA) to win.

      Ideally, I want that to be someone who is quite liberal/left. But I don’t want perfect to be the enemy of good.

      I honestly have never paid close attention to Newsom. Earlier this week, he did [an interview in Davos](https://youtu.be/MfDK84LKHjA) and, just out of curiosity, I watched it. What a smug, slimy, disingenuous, condescending jerk. He seemed to be performing this character, perhaps because he was pissed about being snubbed at Davos. Nevertheless, if this is what this guy genuinely really is, I could never support him. I sure hope the Democrats have someone better in their back pocket.

      I like him. He’s made the initiative to get on the world stage when no other governor has. Davos is a prime example. He’s definitely not perfect but he comes out as a great leader to me.

      I said basically this in another sub and got ripped apart because of it. He’s just like the others and we as a country just cannot continue this way and with „centrists“ bowing to money and doing jack all for the rest of us.

      We could have healthcare, workers rights, free higher education and so much more.

      I have met both Newsom and Khanna multiple times, living in the Bay Area my whole life. Gavin isn’t half the man Ro is. My opinion of Newsom is very low, but my opinion of Khanna is quite high.
