      Nothing out of ordinary or new. British and American forces are completely synchronized. All the business on that front, and it won’t change in the future.

      RAF is gearing up Eurofighters at Cyprus Akrotiri base for an immanent attack on Iran as we are speaking.

      Which is one of the big points we’re making in Greenland. Why would we risk building bases that protect both the US and NATO/Europe but be required to only use them when allowed? Why would we risk losing the billions of investments if the country left NATO like France did?

      Yeah? And what?

      We’ll we’re rapidly coming to the point the US is just going to pack up and leave. There are countries that will allow bases in, it doesn’t have to be yours.

      We can just dissolve NATO and you can pay for your own military and nuclear deterrent.

      This has always been the case, and is the case with all American bases abroad if I recall?

      It’d be a bit worrying if we gave permission for the new Chinese super-embassy but refused permission for new US bases.

      In theory.

      In practice, they could do it anyway and the UK isn’t going to close any of their bases. They can even [murder British civilians and flee to the US](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Harry_Dunn) to escape justice, and we won’t do anything about it.

      That’s the key thing about where we are today. If you expecting rules and laws to save us, you haven’t been paying enough attention.

      Why aren’t those freeloader Americans paying taxes for their bases all over? Did they even say thanks?

      How about the toxic waste they leave behind after they close a base to leave it to the host nation to clean up and deal with the consequences?

      Canada will be dealing with this for generations to come.

      This is from 2018 and perhaps helps explain why the USA has closed bases in Greenland?

      They don’t need us so they can ship out and the bases can return to use by the RAF.
