The head coach Lee is incompetent for sure, and the fact that the KFA couldn’t hire a U23 coach for a year is also worth criticizing, but I think this championship really reveals Korea’s shallow talent depth.

So while there’s no guarantee, we have a good chance of winning the Asian Games and have the players be exempt from serving in the military, but we will likely fail to go to the 2028 Olympics again, as we need to reach minimum finals this time at the same U23 Asian Cup in 2027.
