He was trying to see it the rifle was actually shooting because he wasn’t seeing his bullets hit anything. Guess it WAS working after all……
looked like maybe he got hit in the lower body somewhere first? dick shot off maybe? Just trying to brainstorm some possible explanations because this is absolutely wild. he went from „that guy needs to die“ to „I need to die“ with a quickness.
That microflinch he does a couple seconds before turning the gun on himself must be him taking an incoming round. I think the #1 thing the Russians are afraid of at this point is a long, slow, suffering, protracted death. The self-aware ones must know their lives are forfeit, so it’s too late to do anything but ensure that you have the means and the will to give yourself an easy way out if shit goes south.

Good, this was the most humane thing to do.
The other option would be to constantly live in fear, not knowing if he will be alive for the next hour un till he eventually will be shot or blown up by a drone.
