My guess would be Seitenbacher Müsli commercial slogan. There is not really a joke, it is just an annoying commercial and most people know it.

Seitenbacher
SEITENBACHER
Seitenbacher-Müsli des isch des Müsli von dem Seitenbacher?
It’s very likely a reference to the Seitenbacher muesli commercials. These ads are extremely well-known in Germany and famous (or infamous) for their very strong Swabian dialect and distinctive voice.
So if your friend made a joke in dialect after seeing your muesli, thex were probably quoting or imitating those ads. Even people who don’t speak Swabian usually recognize the reference immediately, because the commercials have been running for decades and are often parodied.
Would be nice, to know what they were saying. But I can only guess they mocked the Seitenbacher ad.
Müsli von Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeitenbacher
After a few weeks of german radio commercials, you will get the reference 😉

SAITENBACHAAAA! RADLAMÜSLI VON SAITENBACHAAA!! WOISCHD, KARLE… Seitenbacher is a german muesli maker where the owner records their radio spots him self and they are impossible to forget once you have heard one.

Did he say „SEITENBACHER MÜSLI – MÜSLI VON SEITENBACHER, LECKER!!!!!“? There was a quite annoying inescapable radio advertisement that every germann knows that just revolves around the company owner proclaiming his brand in a very broad local dialect
Here an example:

Seitenbacher Bergsteigermüsli.
Bergsteigermüsli von Seitenbacher.
My guess: She thought of an advertisement campaign by „Seitenbacher“. The CEO of the company (mostly produces cereals) in(famously) self-produces their radio ads all by himself. He has a dialect and the ads are a love/hate-thing for listeners.

Seitenbacher!
Translation from Wikipedia:
Radio Commercials:
The company gained notoriety primarily through its unusual, seemingly amateurish radio commercials.
These are usually spoken by the company’s owner, Willi Pfannenschwarz, himself and recorded in his own recording studio in the basement. They are memorable because of their pronounced dialect, monotonous delivery, and simple advertising slogans (for example, the 1996 commercial spoken by his then ten-year-old daughter, „Seitenbacher Müsli – lecker!lecker!lecker!“or the one spoken by Pfannenschwarz himself, „Seitenbacher muesli, you know, that’s the muesli from Seitebacher!“(„Seitenbacher-Müsli, woisch, des isch des Müsli von dem Seitebacher!“)
The commercials are broadcast regularly throughout Germany.
According to a study by the SWR magazine Marktcheck, the company’s commercials are polarizing.
Seitenbacher. The brand is known for their radio spots, spoken by the Swabian owner because he didn’t want to pay for an agency to produce the spots. It’s a meme by now.
Des duad au dir guad!
SAITTENBACHAR BÄÄÄRGSDEIGERMÜSLI, BÄÄÄRGSCHDEIGERMÜSLI VON SAITTENBACHAR!!!
Most likely making fun of the Seitenbacher müsli ad. People find it anoying cause they run on radio all the time and when they do they basically say Seitenbacher 10 times in 15 seconds.
Hate it or love it, that ad made everyone know of seitenbacher 😀
#Seitenbacher
Congratulations, You’re german now! Enjoy your SEITENBACHER Müsli, das Müsli from SEITENBACHER!
SAAAIIIITENBACHHHHHER
„Seitenbacher Bergsteigermüsli.Bergsteigermüsli von Seitenbacher.“ 😀
Your friends are lame :p /j
Seitenbacher ad was one of the early things I sent my american friends about german culture, several years before (at least one of them) immigrated!
This comment section is gold. Welcome to the German Hochkultur. Seitenbacher radio commercials have evolved into a meme – literally every German knows them.
„SEITENBACHER!“
SEITENBACHER
This thread is quite impressive in showing how effective the Seitenbacher ad campaign really is. Everyone knows it, everyone knew it was about Seitenbacher because they saw Müsli…
