  1. „Given the international situation where superpowers are trying to take over smaller countries“ — 27% thinks we should go alone???

    Go figure.

I don’t like the idea much, but I feel it’s necessary in this new world order.

  3. This question is written in such way that we can’t use that data as representative of Italian stances on the EU. I think you should edit you post by adding the full question in english – that would be fair.

I kinda doubt that over 90% of voters of three different parties want to federalize the EU

  5. Xylit-No-Spazzolino on

It’s simple: that 54% of Fratelli d’Italia rooters didn’t understand the question.

  6. What would be the advantage of a federal EU?
    Faster laws, I assume.

The downside would be that Brussels would become even more of a Lobby hotspot then it is now.

+ The big tech giants are already cozying up to the far right in Europe.

We may be heading into an age of empires. If that is so then any nation ill equipped to fend off another powerful large nation will be absorbed along with it it’s culture and peoples.

People who answer these polls usually don’t even know or understand what a federalized EU entails.

  9. People voting Lega once again proving they are some steps behind in the human evolution.

Lega is Italian MAGA. We need EU laws to stop these traitors from doing their Russian propaganda and hate speech free from consequences. Traitors all of them.

  11. I think it’s important to address what a federation would entail though…

Would you be so kind as to pass me the source of the survey? It seems too good to be true.

This may sound stupid but does „federation” mean we should become 1 big country?

How do you reconcile being a nationalist and a federalist at the same time? What in the dissociative personality

  15. I don’t understand why we even need to become a federation? I personally have some arguments against it, but I’m curious as to what the arguments for it would be and why some seem to think it’s a necessity?

Voting for fascist patridiots and approve the EU federation. Typical Meloni voters.

  18. I wonder how much of the support from Italian and German citizens is influenced by history of their nations.

I mean, Germany of today is a relatively new unification of many small German states, and Italy is kinda the same.

I don’t sense the same support from much older nations that don’t share the same foundation as a nation, like Sweden or Denmark.

Or maybe it’s much more complex. Seems more likely, just a thought after all.

  19. Italian politics is something else, but whatever I’ll take them when I agree with them.

It’s good but frankly, the way the question is framed: „federation/stays as is/independences/don’t know“. It’s not surprising that many people chose federation. Besides, a portion of them probably did not understand fully everything a federation entails.

The only way out for the EU to survive perhaps. More independent and more competent.

Yup. Might be time for it.

I would have liked this to be a natural progression and not something out of necessity bu here we are
