Just this one more brutal battle and subsequent massacre and finally Syria will be made whole!
They’ll be able to keep slaughtering each other but now with national soverignty.***

Truly, is there a clearer symbol for the hopelessness of humanity in recent time than the history in Syria?
15 years years of bloodshed and a ruined country. The moral seems to be to not even bother, it can always get much, much worse.

It’s a press F moment for the SDF

What the hell is happening now? The SDF collapsed due to arab revolts in their territories, now the national gov is invading the Kurdish hold outs?

There goes the last hope for anything positive in that country. I give it 2 years till Syria is back to pumping out isis recruits.

So the claims they are not entering majority Kurdish areas were full of shit.

The last time the map looked like that, all the Green area in the image was ISIS.
It seems that the Second Siege of Kobani has just began.

The West stopped toying with the Middle East, and now it is healing. I really hope the Syrian people will be able to root out any terrorist organisations in their land. I am really hopeful about the Middle East this time.
We who live outside that region should respect these countries and their sovereignty.

This map is misleading. There is currently a ceasefire in place between the SDF and the Syrian government, and the sides are currently discussing integration against. At least for now. The ceasefire is holding. These arrows are from offensives that are a few days old.

The SDF is used to fight under American “coalition” air support and intelligence, when they lost that support they were blind in a field that they dont know how to navigate. On the other hand, Syrian army former HTS know very well how to fight a ground battle even guerilla warfare without air support because they’ve been doing this for more than a decade. Also, SDF are a bunch of thieves if u see their controlled areas no development, poverty and socialism despite having the largest resources in Syria (oil, gas, dams, water, farmlands) majority of people under their role dont like them.

On the one hand, a united Syria will be good for the stability and growth of the country
On the other hand, the end of this secular left-wing regime in the region at the hands of right-wing religious zealots is not great

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Turks launch an assault from the north. The SDF is pretty much in a hopeless situation.
