      How do you read this? It looks like there were five former presidents alive during George Washington’s administration?

      Clinton is neither the youngest nor most recent living former president. What does „earliest“ mean?

      So the shaded parts are supposed to be the areas where that president was the oldest former president?

      Currently Joe Biden is the oldest former president, not Bill Clinton.

      Did someone just die? Why does it drop right at the end? What year is the end of this graph?

      Huh. There was a point during Nixon’s presidency when there were zero surviving past presidents, but then 30 years later there were 5 – Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton. Didn’t think of that.

      We’re probably headed into another past president desert, with Trump, Biden, Bush, and Clinton all being in their 80s this year.
