      Was he wrong, really? What did we accomplish in Afghanistan? The Taliban’s back in charge, after all. The whole thing was a waste.

      The war was from 2001 through 2021. Not simply 2008. What a random year to pick.

      Everyone yapping about Taliban doesn’t realize it was more about Al-Qaida than Taliban. Quick to forget that the only reason the US went in was because Taliban didn’t hand over Al-Qaida leadership. It was never about overthrowing the Taliban. That just happened to be a side quest so the area wouldn’t be a safe haven for extremists.

      I grew up in a very impoverished part of the UK so a lot of lads signed up for the army because there was no way out of the estates otherwise. I know a few lads that only came back physically, who they were was left in Afghan. They were 18 year olds being shipped off after being promised a future.

      Fuck America.

      Nepalese Gurkha in the British military have also died in Afghanistan, though we are not NATO members.

      Per Million inhabitants, UK’s casualties are heavier that the US’s ones. (8.3 vs 7.7 dead per million inhabitants).

      Is this casualties or fatalities? Title says „died“ but the legend says „casualties.“ Those aren’t the same thing.

      Oh yeah, it was the USA. They funded and armed the Taliban. Who was friends with the Bin Laden’s? Oh, yeah, it is the Bush family. Who was president of USA for the Afghanistan war? Oh yeah it was Bush.

      Who missed his only day of work coincidentally when on 9/11? Howard Lutnick, neighbour to Jeffrey Epstein.
