      Soviet/russian armor does not seem to protect very well compared to western vehicles.

      It would be interesting to read up on the survival rates between different vehicles.

      Anecdotally western tanks and IFV crews survive hits that take out the vehicles and thus live to fight another day. Hard data would be interesting to work through.
