The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic confirmed that a mutual understanding has been reached between the Syrian government and the SDF on a number of issues related to the future of al‑Hasakah Governorate.
📍 The Syrian Presidency explained in a statement received by SANA today, Tuesday, that it was agreed to grant the SDF a period of four days for consultations in order to develop a detailed plan for the practical mechanism of integrating the areas under its command.
📍 The Presidency said: In the event of an agreement, Syrian army will not enter the centers of the cities of al‑Hasakah and Qamishli and will remain on their outskirts, with the timetable and details of the peaceful integration of al‑Hasakah Governorate, including the city of Qamishli, to be discussed later.
📍 It added: It was also confirmed that Syrian military forces will not enter Kurdish villages, and that no armed forces will be present in those villages except for local security forces from the people of the area, in accordance with the agreement.
📍 The Syrian Presidency indicated in its statement that Mr. Mazloum Abdi will put forward a nominee from the SDF for the post of Assistant Minister of Defense, in addition to proposing a nominee for the post of Governor of al‑Hasakah, as well as names for representation in the People’s Assembly and a list of individuals to be employed within Syrian state institutions.

Imagine fighting alongside the US for over a decade as its primary ground force against ISIS, only to be told by the US Ambassador in 2026 that you are no longer needed and should unify with the Syrian Government, itself led by a former senior ISI (later ISIS) and al-Qaeda figure who had a US-issued $10 million bounty only 6 months ago. Not to mention the vast Islamist elements in the current Syrian military, including forces responsible for the ethnic cleansing of Kurdish majority towns. Because that’s what happened:

The end of Rojava, the end of democracy, and of liberation.
Enough with the seperatism it’s time for Syria to be united. Syrian government has guaranteed Kurdish rights, allowed protests, and is working towards elections. Sdf has left it’s towns impoverished, a decade of oil money and western donations with nothing to show.
In short Venezuelan oil >syrian oil ,no need for commie guard dogs
Hasakah is not Kurdish majority though, there’s no majority. Arabs and Kurds coming close. I think it was Arab maj. before 2011 but now it could be Kurdish plurality since they probably applied pro-Kurdish law, rulings and judicial decisions.
Syria’s government is now in the hands of al-Qaeda and ISIS/ISIL, and other jihadis (especially foreign ones). Al-Sharaa is trying to seem moderate, while they implement their Islamic regime like they did in Idlib.
Turkish bots and sock puppets posting so much propaganda in this sub, but in reality Turkey is supporting terrorists, some who are members of an organization who did 9/11.
At last, the Middle East is healing. That land does not need any ethnostates or jihadist groups. I really hope we will see a secular Turkey and Syria, with no more separatism.
