Apparently that game (Golden Circle?) is pretty good. So while they probably should retire the film series, hopefully the franchise isn’t dead.

Not really, the Indiana jones game was awesome . Can’t wait for the sequel.

Trying to recapture the lightning in a bottle that is Ford’s Indiana Jones is impossible. I’m sure they’ll try, nonetheless.

I’d rather they turn it into an anthology series. Pick a time period. Pick a myth/artifact. Choose villains that fit the story. The protagonist is an archeologist named Indiana Jones. Greenlight only the best scripts and don’t worry about a continuity between them.

Same thing they should’ve done with the Pirates franchise instead of running Jack Sparrow into the ground. Give me Pirates of the [X]. Ragnar Lothbrok, Zheng Yi Sao, Sinbad…

Kind of cool that Harrison Ford was the one who pushed for another.

Surprised he went along with them turning Indy into a divorced dad in mourning though.

“Youve rode off into the sunset, then returned and walked off married happily ever after. How should the new movie begin?”

    “Dead kid.”

  5. I mean, isn’t every series in existence „officially dead (for now)“ until the next installment is announced?

  6. I thought it was a good movie. Shame the 2 tv shows in development were scrapped.

Even if Kingdom of The Crystal Skull was bad, it did have such a beautiful end for Indy only for the new movie to just erase that all for nothing. I hope they just stick to making more Indiana Jones games cause The Great Circle was amazing

  8. I liked it! Even though I was literally the only one in the theater on opening weekend.

  9. With no one going to movies, and no one giving a shit about Indiana Jones for about 20 years, this would be a massive flop.

  10. How do you have something as amazing as the Indiana Jones IP, and do….that….with it?

You can’t tell me no one would watch a 10 episode Indiana Jones series with new actors set in the 1930’s written by a couple of the Andor writers.

  11. They keep pushing and pushing.
They need to end the James Bond franchise now! Enough!

You mean people didn’t rush out to see an 80 yr old Indiana Jones? Who would have thought!

  13. It was dead sooner than that … studios need to stop farming nostalgia cash from past successes and tarnishing their legacy in the process.

I saw Ford at the AARP awards and dude is not in any condition to be making action movies. Let him rest.

It was dead to me when I was walking out of the theater after Crystal Skull. I would like to give the recent video game a try though.

  16. I still say Spielberg made the first one better than the Saturday Matinee movie Lucas wanted. Lucas wanted ridiculous stuff like inter-dimensional beings and nuked fridges. It was popcorn fun, but ole Stevie made a masterpiece instead.

Maybe we should be talking more about reviving Briscoe County Jr instead!

Really, he/the ip was *officially dead* after *kingdom of the Crystal Skull* (2008); the last genuine’ish Doctor Jones’ adventure.

Kathy Kennedy’s *indiana jones* was more like a YouTube video where Indiana is castigated and avoids being cancelled after a career’s worth sexism and excessive macho swagger

  18. This is literally the first I’ve ever heard of this movie being made and it’s already out
