Percentages are the change in sales from the previous year (2024). Some vehicles with large percentage differences are the result of a model redesign (can cause a decrease and then increase in production) such as the Tesla Model Y, Toyota Tacoma, and Tesla Model 3.
Bar color represents the body type of vehicle. I also chose to highlight electric vehicles. Fully electric vehicle „trims“ like the F150 Lightning, Silverado EV, etc. are counted as separate models (and thus not shown here).
Small note. The Ram pickup is made by Dodge. That seems to be the only one where you don’t name the manufacturer.
So I’m not imagining a lot of trucks on the road.
Why, oh why, do so many guys get a little short bed pickup truck that they drive around empty to get to their office job or the mall?
People used to get pickup trucks as a second vehicle to drive when they, you know, needed to haul something. Now it’s a status symbol and you can’t even move a couch with it.
