Cool. Any Republicans and admin staff? No? Great, we’re still fucked. Absolutely brilliant.

    Impeach. Remove. Right now.

Does not matter this is already a family business, he would put is son in charge and get away with it, he can do anything right.

  3. 25th is initiated by the President, or VP, and requires support from the majority of the ***Cabinet***.

    This isn’t happening.

  4. city_dwellerZ on

The Republicans and especially the sycophants in the cabinet will NEVER invoke it. He could be slouching and drooling and have his eyes closed during meetings and they would ignore it… they already do.

  5. Cultural_Climate_538 on

Unfortunately this means absolutely zero. 99% of republicans are completely cucked to this deranged president and will bend over backwards to protect him because they’re so scared of losing votes from his MAGA cult.

  6. Frequent_Champion_42 on

The cabinet is not going to remove him. Trump is who gives them legitimacy and power. If Vance gets in, he could kick any one of them to the curb.

So are we still thinking the VP will suddenly call for this when it works out best for him, so he can maximize his fantasy of 8+ years in power? Wasn’t there some magical time where he could replace him and still serve two additional terms?

trump won’t be going anywhere until he is no longer of use to his handlers and cabinet.

he is a figurehead following the norquist plan

    > We know what direction to go. We just need a president to sign this stuff. Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to be president of the United States.

he’s already demonstrated that he doesn’t usually know what he’s signing with the spree of EOs issued as soon as he was sworn in. and now with his auto pen and AI, he’s the perfect leader for Norquist’s vision.

  9. Whenever I see „Democrats call to X“, I know with certainty that nothing will change.

  10. Hey Dems, how about you proceed to impeach again because we all know not a single Republican or Cabinet staff member will support his removal via 25th.

  11. It would be the equivalent of removing Maduro. Trump is a figurehead. Miller, Wiles, and Vought would be a good start.

Congress needs to activate the 25th Amendment clause that allows them to take the power of choosing away from Cabinet and into some other body. It’s a huge conflict of interest that the President gets to pick his assessors, led by the person who would get the interim gig. Would not require a constitutional amendment.

Could go with something like a committee of top legislative officials with representation from both parties (i.e., committee chairs and ranking members) plus a rotating mix of governors. Give the committee power to compel independent medical examinations and other support to aid in decision-making.

Could also amend the line of succession to clarify that any replacement or interim president can only come from the same political party as the president, to respect the will of voters.

Will this go through at least ? I’m tired of seeing him win all stupid things he keeps doing throughout his life.

    Nice
This wouldn’t even be a conversation if norms still mattered.

  15. Please please please! Can you imagine a war with Donald Trump in charge? We’d lose so bad. Not that I want us in a war or to win it. But it would be a shit show of the highest order. And the fact that republicans are still with him tells me mental illness is contagious.

  16. Headline sounded like it was invoked. No, nothing to see here for most of us. Possibly a good article for those who just woke up though…

  17. You need more votes in congress to forcibly remove a President through the 25th amendment (2/3 in both houses) than you do for impeachment (majority in house, 2/3 in Senate). Not to mention needing his own admin to stab him in the back. Talk of the 25th amendment is stupid. He should be impeached

  18. It’ll never happen. They know removing him is political suicide and that will always, trump anything else. They’ll let him send off nukes on his death bed before he’s removed from office.

Republicans…save yourselves and your future…do you want to look your grandkids in the eye in your old age? Do something NOW…the left will land the results of this squarely at your feet for the rest of your days. Your time to save yourself is running out. You must act.

I’m getting really close to the point where I spontaneously combust with anger. I just can’t take the daily shitstorm of whatever this fucking new reality is, plus these half assed attempt to stop it that never go anywhere.

  21. Possible_Gur4789 on

Do. Forget party. As human beings everyone with the ability to save millions of lives by removing this deranged manic from office as is the only proper thing to do right need to do it. The blood will be on their hands and there are no party rags that can ever remove that stain.

  22. I don’t remember the title or rank, but there is someone with the military authority to remove/arrest him if he ordered an attack on an allied country. Fingers crossed that person does the right thing.

Crazy how our business leaders are quiet about this too.

If we go to war with Europe to invade Greenland, the economy will be a steaming pile of rubble from severed trade and absolutely justified sanctions. None of that would be good for stocks.

Even amoral pricks should be panicking. But they probably don’t believe this is actually happening.
