      Summary:

      Canada isn’t paying to be on it, Carney will make a final decision on whether to join once the terms and conditions are actually clear. 

      What I THINK might’ve happened is Carney said a tentative yes when it was pitched as being solely about Gaza, and is trying to walk that back now that it’s turning out to be a total mess

      Macron just did the right thing with respect to Trump’s offer to be on the Board and Carney should do the same: “Thanks but no thanks “. For multiple reasons: the $1-billion fee; Putin also offered membership; Trump self-declared Board chair with a veto on everything; clear attempt to circumvent the role of the UN; etc. Canada should 100% refuse to play in this.
