  1. His cabinet are all hand-picked sycophants so expecting them to use the 25th amendment is asinine.

  2. It was time for the 25th Amendment when he tore down the East Wing to build himself a gaudy ballroom. Or when he admitted he didn’t know how groceries worked.

The 25th Amendment should have been invoked a LONG time ago.

  3. Fuck the 25th Amendment. His cabinet would never do that. It’s time to impeach him. Republicans NEED to take this seriously.

  4. Nothing will happen.

At this point it wouldn’t be surprising if even if his establishment decided to revoke the 2nd amendment tomorrow, his voters would clap while congress does literally nothing

  5. Vance would be awful, but lacking the charisma and crowd pull of Trump and likely fizzle out like Gerald Ford. Let’s boot Trump out asap

  6. Someone tell him the ‚arc of the moral universe‘ does not bend toward temper tantrums.

It was apparent before they ever put a 30+ felon on the ballot, but better late than never

This is about him being salty that Obama received a peace prize.

Reaching levels of pathetic previously thought impossible.

  9. I watched Nuremberg yesterday. This movie needs to be shown to everyone in the US today. Maybe it will open eyes for some of them.

Lol. Nothing will happen. Trump will continue to do and say whatever he likes and not a single person will do anything to stop him. America has an absolute Monarch and nobody will ever stop him because nobody has the integrity or willingness to go against him.

Forget the cabinet, section 4 of the 25th can only be invoked by the Vice President. Vance is never going to fire the starting pistol.

  12. Just do whatever it takes, I don’t care, to get this buffoon out of office. Can’t even say the highest office in the world anymore because he’s made such a joke out of it.

  13. Well TPTB had better use the 25th Amendment else we are fast approaching the point i fear where someone whose life has been adversely impacted by this administration uses those same numerals in separate ones.

Everyone can see that Trump is mentally unstable and will only get worse.

    His health is also deteriorating.

Biggest coverup in the history of our country.

  15. Accomplished-Run221 on

This headline could have been posted at any time during either of his presidencies.

  16. willis_michaels on

Now’s the time? What about the entirety of 2016-2020?

Let’s stop sane-washing his presidency. It’s been horrendous from the get go.

  17. He’s running the office for personal gains and person vendettas. His reason for wanting to invade Greenland is an impeachable offense by itself. Let a long the dozens of other impeachable offenses.

  18. Situations like this are what impeachment is for. Headlines bring up the 25th because it’s obvious that the Republicans will never allow an impeachment to happen. Removal via the 25th amendment requires even more Republican cooperation than impeachment. Impeachment takes a simple majority in the house and a 2/3 majority in the senate. The 25th requires the vice president, a majority of the cabinet, and 2/3 of both houses of congress.

  19. He’s surrounded himself with people using him for their own personal gain or those who he’s using for his personal gain.
Expecting any of them to do anything is ludicrous.

„Carrying out the demands of his office“? That’s pretty cute. He doesn’t give a shit about his ‚office‘. He cares about his fucking pocket. And the demands are coming from his buyers.

  21. Hankhills4hedvein on

If they do invoke it it won’t happen until tomorrow. Congress appears to not work weekends or holidays even when they’re most needed.

  22. throwawaytoday9q on

“Headlines call for republicans to do the right thing!”

Narrator: But they did not do the right thing.

  23. Conspiracy theory time. They’re not going to invoke it or allow it to pass until there’s a larger democrat presence in congress. Then they’ll back it post mid terms, and set Vance up for a potential 10-year Presidency.

  24. Pretty reasonable, articulate and well argued perspective:

    > Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT

Just like [old times in Treaty of the Danish West Indies 1916 ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_the_Danish_West_Indies)

    >Archive materials show that, during these talks, Lansing implied that if an agreement on the sale of the islands was not reached, the U.S. military might occupy the islands to prevent their seizure by Germany.[17]

    >During 1916, the two sides agreed to a sale price of $25,000,000, and the United States accepted a Danish demand for a declaration stating that they would „not object to the Danish Government extending their political and economic interests to the whole of Greenland“.[12][18] Although it had a claim on northern Greenland based on explorations by Charles Francis Hall[19] and Robert Peary, the United States decided that the purchase was more important, especially because of the nearby Panama Canal.[20] Historian Bo Lidegaard questions the utility of such a declaration, as the country had never disputed Danish sovereignty.[12]

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Nothing will happen and you’ll know it . This is America now.

  26. He’s literally trying to take revenge on Scandinavia for not giving him a Nobel prize, and will burn all alliances and economic relationships to achieve that. It’s pathetic, he is clearly not a fit US President. Vance will not be kind to Europe, but he’s not a lunatic.

  27. I dont see how the 25th amendment applies, this policy is all intended. The whole government supports Trump. He is not impeached.

  28. Ashamed-Sprinkles-76 on

If you, the American people, do not do something – you will forever be associated with the shame of letting a tyrant attack other countries. You are responsible for this, now sort it out.

  29. Haha, we’re gonna invade them in order to protect them. Kinda like Minnesota. Well Donnie, the jig is up. We now this is a giant distraction from the Epstein/Trump/Climton files, but it’s not working. Release the files NOW!

  30. Sea-Environment-5938 on

This isn’t another opinion piece, it reflects growing concern from a range of political observers about how the White House communicates abroad and whether that affects global stability. Invoking the 25th Amendment is rare and politically hard, but it’s being floated because of the content and tone of recent statements.

  31. IsThisIsHellOrWorse on

Another useless DailyShart article. The constitution is toilet paper until you deal with your embedded nazi problem.

  32. GreyFoxNinjaFan on

remember when that nice Austrian chap with the dandy little moustache didn’t win that art prize?

  33. campfire_eventide on

I feel like all of this cynicism toward Americans (warranted and I get that) is also forgetting what is happening in Minnesota. Protestors are facing ICE knowing they could be injured/detained/worse but they aren’t backing down. It’s honestly been really inspiring to me.

Let’s also not forget the amazing gains in Virginia in the small amount of time that the Dems took control of their state legislature.

  34. Zero chance. The US would need to suffer to an unimaginable extent before any credible attempt to remove trump from office using the 25th amendment and revoke his mandate. He’s built a mafia of subservients around him and packed all 3 branches with lackeys.

America needs a reality check, the constitution is meaningless waffle at this point and has been roundly ignored without consequence. There’s a paramilitary militia running around snatching people up often without warrant or cause, with countless documented instances of denying them due process and basic human rights.

Add to that the countless violations of the emoluments clause, the hatch act and separation of powers, deception of the court, lying under oath, power of the purse, freedom of the press, and a laundry list of others specifically listed in the constitution. But yeah, the 25th amendment is where they’re going to nail him to the wall…

Or y’know, all this will be normalized because outrage fatigue, protests achieve little and people need to pay the bills. The flooding the zone will continue, the distractions will get their own distractions and he’ll get a whole lot worse and a whole lot richer because he can act with impunity thanks to nobody having the power to stop it and an endless book of pardons waiting should someone with the balls and power emerge.

The man is bulletproof and while he may be dumb as a box of rocks he’s smart enough to recognize it.
