Vote however you want but if you voted for this I don’t think forgiveness is coming soon.

Better learn to start thinking first, otherwise it doesn’t matter. They’ll flip every election cycle when someone tells them that eggs are too expensive.

As a former Republican (who did not support Trump in 2024) I cannot say that I am surprised. His support among Independents has completely cratered. The GOP is in big, big trouble if the midterms are held fairly.

Nice of them to turn AFTER they completely fucked the country for themselves and the generations to come.

I think there is a strong element within Gen Z that is drawn towards a perception of authenticity. And there is this trend in viewing Trump as speaking his mind, being authentic, challenging the status quo, and speaking like a „real“ person. What the generation lacks, in my opinion, is context or an understanding of history to see how that can be manipulated for truly evil purposes. So here we are. It’s great that they’re getting a good look at authoritarianism and rejecting it. Next time, maybe listening to those who can provide context and expertise would be a good idea.

  6. As a European, I don’t understand why any American would agree with what their president is doing. Are the Americans who still like Trump really so stupid that they don’t understand that Trump is only interested in increasing his wealth and doesn’t care at all about the American people?

Tyrant must go.  Nero fiddled whole Rome burned.  Trump ballroom dances while money is stolen from the poor to give to the rich.  Tyrant must go.

  8. 21-year-old here. A lot of people I know unfortunately voted for Trump or refused to vote for Harris because they wanted to „stick it to the man“ (or woman in this case). They thought „things aren’t ideal under a Democrat, so under the Republicans they will be better“ without actually looking at the GOP platform.

  9. The fact that anyone has ever approved of him in the first place baffles me. Truly cannot get my head round how anyone can fall in being this grotesque human being!

  10. Who would have thought that voting for a guy, because a bastardized Chinese app told you to, because he’s the bad guy, and that’s cool, was a bad idea.

    Who knew

  11. Good first step – but it won’t mean anything if you don’t get out and vote this fall.

  12. Let’s be honest. A country stupid enough to elect Donald Trump twice probably cannot be saved.

  13. Every day I think about the guy on cnn on election night who said he was voting for trump solely bc of the cost of eggs.

Don’t worry, once 2028 comes around, the GOP/Russia will astroturf Tik Tok again and the Gen Z kids will all swing back to supporting whatever GOP candidate is trotted out there.

  15. If I was gen z, the prospect of getting drafted to fight Europe in a war would have me spooked

People are STILL talking about approval ratings. You’re stuck with this guy for longer than you think.

And all it took was a rancid yam destroying for them to realize fascism only works for those at the top

  18. For an eye opener, research the popularity “polls” (as best could be described as such) of Hitler about this same time in his regime as compared to trump.

  19. Gen Z really fucked us over here so they’d better get with the program at this point. Don’t expect May back pats though.

They should be required to have „MAGA“ on their forehead like Inglorious Bastards.

I see a lot of parallels to the early George W Bush administration here. After 9/11, he had like 90% approval and there was this whole macho Murica culture that captured the zeitgeist. Fast forward a couple of years, the administration was a total nightmare, and folks who had only been „fans“ without paying too much attention to policy details were suddenly realizing that the GOP was a huge problem. The resulting blowback brought us President Barack Obama and turned the entire millenial generation solidly blue. Let’s hope we see that last bit play out with the youth today.
