No one else is coming to save us, no one else came to our defense when the disgusting comments started. 

Having said that, we should join the exercise to show unity and force 

A strong military and even well regulated militias need to be baked into every aspect of Canadian domestic policy.

The only way forward is by being serious and doing whatever it takes to get the CAF and our national defence machinery functional again.

I think one possible solution is to leverage immigration to backfill non-critical support roles in the CAF. There are lots of international students who came to Canada in recent years in the search of a dream who are now stuck in immigration limbo. Allow them to join the CAF as NCM members, work in non-critical support roles, in exchange for permanent residency after 5 years.

Another thing that could be done, is to allow citizens to form well regulated militias. It would appease the gun owners, and bolster Canada’s national defence capabilities in every corner of Canada.

Canada has to get serious about defending itself before it’s too late.
