As a person living in northern vidarbha, I can confirm Bundeli & Bagheli are NOT spoken here. Majority people speak Marathi

So the states who supports hindi language don’t speak hindi… They just use hindi script(devnagri) because they don’t have any own script for their language 🙌🏻… Thats why they support one nation one language

Why is boro highlighted as Nepali? Deccani/Dakhni or “Deccan” on this map is not a mjority anywhere, only a significant minority in some places

Even as a Haryanvi/Punjabi i wasn’t aware it was this diverse. Always just grew up associating states with their stereotypical lang like UP – Hindi/Urdu, Bengal – Bengali, Maharashtra – Marathi, Tamil Nadu – tamil etc etc 😭

where is Anal language? context: the Anāl language is a Sino-Tibetan language spoken for the Anāl Naga people.

  6. Rest of subcontinent (the historical India) should be included. This is only modern day Republic of India. There is no sense in stopping at nation state borders when creating linguistic maps.

  8. Tulu/malayalam border isn’t accurate: Mangaluru district (southern coastal Karnataka) should be highlighted as tulu.
