      Greece from 1990 till 2008 was between approximately 50-90% of Turkey’s gdp. Now we’re only 18% after a decade of collapse. What’s even more worrying is that our population keeps aging we’re only 10 million while Turkey is close to 90 million.

      The population of Turkey is even bigger by comparison… Istanbul alone has as many people as Greece and Bulgaria combined!

      Doesn’t matter much. Country has a high income inequality and absurd number of dollar billionaires. And the richest people employ the fewest people.

      Turkey reached $1.710 trillion annually and $20,072 per capita. Probably will be in $2 trillion club by 2028.

      Whatever the fuck it is worth. 17th economy in the world, 144th in income equity. %80 is poor.

      The crazy thing is Turkey’s GDP in 2013 was really close to 1T and until 2023 it didn’t surpass that GDP peak. 10 years of stagnation. By that you can see how bad of a leader Erdogan is.

      Wow, crazy how two similarly-sized regions that are right next to each other have similar GDPs!

      I’m from Serbia and I’m not surprised at all, I recently started watching our guy that drives trucks to turkey and back, their factories are way better and bigger than ours

      For reference romania and greece combined have about 2.5 times less gdp than turkey while only having a bit less than 30 million population and turkey has 86 million residents as of 2025 (about 3 times less population)

      The rest are either very small in terms of population to actually make up a good percent or really poor. Many arent even in the european union which makes their cases worse

      This is the 2nd poorest corner of europe (doesnt add in russia, ukraine and belarus)

      Not trina throw any mud or anything at OP but this is still a very important consideration

      P.S russia has nearly 2x the population of turkey andonly 56% more gdp as of 2025
