Hallo! Ich fuhr mit dem Zug von Frankfurt nach Würzburg und bemerkte, als ich an einem der Bahnhöfe anhielt, mehrere solcher Schilder. Ich habe nicht die beste Sehkraft, also habe ich hineingezoomt und Fotos gemacht. Unter jedem Schild befindet sich ein Steinhaufen und ein Loch, das irgendwo im Zaun führt.
Was genau sind das? Ich dachte, dass es vielleicht kleine Häuser/Unterstände für Reptilien sind, aber jetzt bin ich neugierig, welche Arten in der Region leben. Seit ich nach Deutschland gezogen bin, habe ich noch kein einziges Reptil gesehen, aber ich habe viele süße Frösche und Kröten gesehen!

This is an info sign for the folks who clear the tracks and surrounding areas of overgrown plants and bushes. These little holes in the noise barrier need to be kept clear so lizards can get through.
They used to be called „Krötentunnel“ (toad tunnels) when I was a kid, looks like they’ve been upgraded to all kinds of amphibians and lizards now. Basically pathways under roads and through those noise blocking fences to allow access to ponds and other natural habitats.
