      SS: Our freedoms are being eroded by bootlickers. Each side uses their pet issues to accumulate more power to the feds, which the next side then ruthlessly exploits the second they regain power.

      Critical thinking indicates that the science behind vaccines is sound – because they *work*.

      Critical thinking also indicates that covering one’s mouth limits the spread of their saliva.

      If you just like being contrarian to the government’s directives, no matter how good or bad they are, you’re not being an independent thinker – you’re just a sheep that’s on another paddock.

      Difference?
      At least the left picture involved a scientifically demonstrable danger to society. Was there overreach and imperfect execution? Of course don’t be naive this isn’t a claim that it was perfect. 
      The right picture justifies itself only in reference to the cult of personality around its leader and a patchwork of narratives that justify racial bigotry.

      Yes countries are sovereign and should enforce borders and deport undocumented people. But this goes beyond that in the mind of MAGA

      Freedom loving red all supporting the gestapo and science loving blue supporting junk science propaganda. It’s truly a frustrating time to live in the US. And dangerous. I think (or hope) the majority of people here see the idiocy and hypocrisy, but the two cults are much louder.

      A. Wear a mask to protect myself and others from an unseeable, mindless virus or get denied access to public stores.

      OR

      B. Carry around all of my citizenship documentation, or risk getting stopped by the brown shirts, beat up, killed, detained, or disappeared.

      Somehow it doesn’t feel like an equivalent choice when you look at the consequences of not obeying.
