      USA Acquiring Greenland?

Nothing to do with US security or rare earths, all to do with deriving a financial benefit for Trump and his billionaire buddies.

      Who would’ve guessed?

    2. Environment-Small on

Wonder how Greenland spruiked the interest of his billionaire buddy, who heads a make up corp.

    3. 81 year old billionaire, making the world a worse place for a bit more money on his way out. Fuckin psychopath

    4. There it is. None of the strategic reasons made sense. Historically, the US has put tons of bases on Greenland without a complaint. Our alliance with NATO allows that. Realistically, if we need rare Earth elements from there we could probably negotiate for that too without some big dumb takeover. But, if the goal is to personally enrich one guy, that changes things.

He is the owner of Estee Lauder (his mom) cosmetics brand – and rich due to inheritance. He is a donor to Trump and the MAGA Super PAC.

Stop buying his products if you don’t like Trump.

Weird….put on a set of round glasses and this Dipshit is a dead ringer for Dick Cheney.

Must have used the same rich asshole mold.

    7. We all knew Trump would be involved in grifting. 2x the win for PedoOTUS Trump: some type of payment plus takes attention away from being a pedophile partner of Epstein

If *Bolton* of all people is surprised by this, you know it’s bonkers.

    9. >One day during his first term, [Donald Trump](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/donaldtrump) summoned a top aide to discuss a new idea. “Trump called me down to the Oval Office,” John Bolton, national security adviser in 2018, told the Guardian. “He said a prominent businessman had just suggested the US buy

      >It was an extraordinary proposal. And it originated from a longtime friend of the president who would go on to acquire business interests in the Danish territory.

      >The businessman, Bolton learned, was Ronald Lauder. Heir to a makeup fortune – the global cosmetics brand Estée Lauder – he had known Trump, a fellow wealthy New Yorker, for more than 60 years.

I think Denmark has every right and reason to force him to sell all his assets and ban him from ever stepping foot on Greenland.

      > “Bits of information that he hears from friends, he takes them as truth and you can’t shake his opinion.”

      Oh. you mean a moron.

      And a corrupt moron!

Why am I not surprised. Crony capitalism is such an ugly thing to see when lives are on the line

He’s a perfume magnate? Jesus Christ. History rhymes.
Peru, Bolivia and Chile fought a war over bird shit. But it will still be weird to die over perfume.

Could be billionaires but its looks more like a pincer move on Europe.

From one side its USA taking Greenland and another side its Russia taking Ukraine. Basically this move allows all resources that were going to Ukraine to be diverted to Greenland because Denmark is a NATO member and take priority over Ukraine a NON-NATO member.

    13. Not surprising. This administration is bought and sold a long time ago. Politicians been this way for a long time, but this is the most blatant and egregious I’ve witnessed.

“For the People” is a joke.

Those who will pay the highest price ( the risk of our lives) will come home with the least!

“Trump’s Greenland concept was never absurd – it was strategic,” Lauder wrote in the New York Post. He went on: “Beneath its ice and rock lies a treasure trove of rare-earth elements essential for AI, advanced weaponry and modern technology. As ice recedes, new maritime routes are emerging, reshaping global trade and security.”

They’ve always known climate change is real. I used to watch Putin’s speeches 10 years ago for…uh…fun. He’s been touting the benefits of the planet getting set on fire so Siberia can have wineries. Never mind catastrophic collapse of ecosystems.

A conflict of interest and the president using his office to benefit a friend is abuse of power. This is worthy of impeachment. Like him or hate him there it is

    17. finkleismayor on

Trump is so stupid that some billionaire can tell him they want to attack Australia because they hold all of the world’s ketchup reserves and if he takes over that country, he’ll give Trump 25% of ketchup profits. Next thing you know, the convicted rapist will start a crusade against mustard and kangaroos.

    18. Maybe these billionaires should be deported and their assets seized. A little of the ICE treatment may do them well.

    19. RandoJerk369 on

I swear if I could get on Fox News I could convince Trump of so many batshit insane ideas like how global warming is bad. How windmills are good. Why everyone deserves equal rights

    20. Then we should seize any assets that we can in the EU if they do invade Greenland.

    21. Let this sink in for a moment:

      *inhale*

TRUMP IS WILLING TO DISSOLVE NATO TO ENRICH HIS BILLIONAIRE BENEFACTORS!

HE MUST BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE BEFORE HE STARTS WW3!

    22. AquaWitch0715 on

Every billionaire who’s involved with this should have all of their assets seized, banned from the country, and required to pay fines.
