  1. Lmao no.

Solomon had ethics violations before he was even elected, can’t imagine what he’s doing now.

Not to mention, he just seems completely incompetent. During a CBC interview Cochrane asked him how Canada would compete with the U.S. on AI development, given the massive disparity in compensation. Solomon’s response was that compensation doesn’t matter and that people don’t consider it when looking for jobs or where to work, they’ll just choose Canada because it’s the best country in the word.

This guy is a joke and not even the worst person in Carney’s cabinet (looking at Robertson)

I use AI daily as a frontend developer. It genuinely makes my job a lot easier. It can spin up prototype websites very quickly, and if I work with line by line we can put together very high quality features faster than I could alone.

  3. How serious is Canada in the AI race?

Canada’s AI czar appointment is a former tv host
USA’s AI czar appointment is David Sacks

David Sacks was former COO and product leader at PayPal, has founded and successfully exited companies over $1 billion USD, is a venture capitalist investing into AI and the co-host of the ALL In podcast which has had guests like Musk, Altman, Dalio, Andreesen, Huang and the who’s who of business, tech and AI.
