Yes it looks ridiculous, but I would not dismiss it entirely. It could mask thermal signatures and at night the otherwise pretty obvious shape is less relevant. Yes, pretty cumbersome, but it could allow them to bring larger groups closer to the front at night and potentially achieve localized surprise.

Damn so was it to protect from the elements or is it to hide from drones?
If they were suggesting using them as tents for night time drone protection that might make vague sense – although my experience with IR sensors tells me that very thin materials just act like frosted glass and they’ll still be partially visible. Plus if they spend any length of time in them they are going to heat up the material.
But to suggest they wear them for night time ’sneaky‘ assaults is beyond laughable. In the night, no visibility, over rough ground, with rifle and kit, flapping away in the breeze…

Pretty sure that stormtrooper wearing red life jacket has already seen in a battle so next warpriests will be casting invisibility spells upon orc soldiers.

Decathelon sells them for 50€ as a camping shower/changening room so my bet is these are from temu for 5$ with a discount..

I have my doubts about the thermal signature aspect of this. It would eliminate the small white thermal signature of the face and hands, yes. But it would create a larger target that is still very thermally distinct from the background.
So it isn’t a way to avoid being spotted thermally and that’s before your factor in the obvious disadvantages on movement and visibility outwards. And as visual camouflage, the soldiers uniform is supposed to do this already in a mucrss restrictive way than having to wear an entire tent.
I’m surprised it got to the stage where 20 of them were even tried like this.
