There were a lot of things this article could’ve complained about, but accusing Carney of a conflict of interest because Brookfield partially financed the X purchase is not what I had in mind.

That’s hogwash. Their lack of response to X is much easier explained by Trump giving political protection to Musk, and vowing retribution to whoever blocks the app. I agree we should be doing something about it, but the reality is that they’re scared of Trump, not that Carney is trying to shield Brookfield’s profit

We need to buy some time to build up. Grok is fucking garbage, but don’t needlessly poke the bear when you are not ready

  3. Let’s also take a minute to call out the Official Opposition for giving the government at complete pass on this topic. The moral dimension is right up the Conservative Party’s ideological alley. They should be excoriating the Liberals for allowing the sale of child pornography.

The Liberals are giving X a pass because they’re scared of Trump, and the Conservatives because they love him.

Pretty much treat Trump as a noise maker and don’t steal is spotlight. With Trump you can only trust his actions, when his words are senseless and are not grounded in any sense of reality.

I am deeply disappointed at our government’s inability to act on the horrific shit going on at X over the past couple weeks, but it’s not because Carney had ties to firms involved in Musk’s acquisition of the site – it’s because Evan Solomon’s a dilettante and the Canadian people aren’t doing enough to inspire other MPs to go over Evan’s head and demand the PM take urgent action.
