  1. Show of hands: who here would want to actually be a part of the United States?  We can even include the Americans in this

Can any American answer why someone would not like to be an American?

What the fuck is this title?

Here is what the article is about

    > his nation would rather remain part of Denmark than become a territory of the United States

    > „We face a geopolitical crisis, and if we have to choose between the U.S. and Denmark here and now then we choose Denmark,“ Nielsen said. „We stand united in the Kingdom of Denmark.“

It wasn’t the PM just stating his preference. I am baffled by this title choice.

I too prefer Denmark to the US. Any person with the semblance of a moral compass prefer Denmark.

    None of this makes sense.

Greenland is protected by NATO against the Russia and Chinese aggression, which the US is a part of.

The US also is allowed to station almost as many troops and equipment on Greenland as they want.
Which they already have bases there.

This isn’t about what is good for Greenland, it’s a vanity project for the Cheeto supreme leader and exploitation of the resources there.

There is absolutely no economic advantages for Greenlanders becoming US citizens.

Well then Denmark, Norway and other Nordic countries better show military preparedness and send forces to Greenland. Trump is hoping they won’t show how serious they are.

I find it funny, at first is was „Greenland is independent and there’s no more discussion“, now it’s „ok we will have a discussion.. b-but Greenland is independent!“

The meeting is even taking place in the white house, the US seat of power, not in Nuuk nor in Copenhagen, they have to go into the US to „negotiate“ this.

I guess after the meeting it will be „ok we can work out something please don’t hurt us“ if things keep going like this, no wonder the US keeps pushing.

Why not? We treat indigenous people so well here, and our Black and Brown people too, everybody is welcome here just ask the people we’ve sent to other countries..we are tops in education and cutting edge of energy. Health care: who needs that? We’ve just okayed forever chemicals in our food supply, so there’s that. Gotta love it!

I’m pretty sure he’d lose his job if Greenland became part of the US. So that’s hardly surprising.
