You have to „jump through hoops“ because fraud is a thing and they won’t just return money for people on a whim.
Edit: Whoever sent a „Get them help“ report on this message is a sad individual.
A simple screenshot of rip.ie etc is sufficient
I tried to cancel a Ring of Beara ticket when I got cancer. Was simply told there’s nothing they could do.
It’s an insurance company, they don’t tend to just take people’s word as truth.

Just send a link to the RIP notice. Its not that hard. Its part of what you signed up to. You obviously bought the policy for this purpose. This is your part in it.
If you crashed your car you couldnt just ring up the insurance company and say listen I crashed the car send me money. You have to provide documentation.

Last summer my mother booked a flight on Ryanair for herself and three friends and bought their insurance coverage in case anything happened.
She ended up being diagnosed with cancer a week before the holiday was due to happen and died a number of weeks later.
The amount of documents we needed to provide from doctors was a pain in the ass. To be fair to them, when they did confirm that the payment would be processed they had it paid into the account about an hour later.
Meanwhile, her life insurance payment has still not been paid out to the designated recipient.
I believe it’s Revolut insurance? This is a normal process. How else do they verify the claim since frauds happen.

Just make a pdf saying „this is fairly heartless“ and attach it as the official document
This isnt the fun runs fault tho. This is a 3rd part insurance company you paid for. It is them simply trying to minimise fraud
