    Interesting because many US cities are reporting similarly low figures. Obviously great news but it doesn’t pique curiosity.

    But what about all the no-go zones and gangs and sharia law enforcement?

    I don’t believe this for a second. My favourite Youtube channels and X accounts told me otherwise.

  4. People will give credit to the mayor like he’s the one murdering or not murdering people😂

    Zoom out;

    ‚Reporting crime seen to be increasingly pointless, and hence crime reports go down – police take a victory lap and become even more complacent‘

    In previous periods were we collectively feeling a sense of disgusted vulnerability re: how (a) the police somehow had *no time or resources* to catch 95% of burglars and robbers, and yet (b) had exactly *enough* time to throw people in prison for things as petty as feeding the pigeons and littering inside their own van, and no less what they happen to say online to get themselves throw in the back of a police van like Graham Linehan

    This doesn’t have to be a left-right issue; plenty of people were appalled when the Tories did it too, and in fact: the Tories both (i) cut police funding *and* (ii) paved the way for non-crime hate incidents and the increasingly low bar for verbal peace-breaching and malicious online comms – we recognise that when the Tories did it it was a bad thing – so we’re on the same page, still, that this societal-rot is *still* making our community safety an utter laughing stock? Illegal migrants (excuse me: ‚distress asylum seekers, to a man‘ come here unvetted as well in such a high volume – whatever Government turns their blind eyes to this catastrophe: can we not agree this is an utter calamity?
