Trump doesn’t care about the Venezuelan opposition. The regime is still in power, and as long as Trump and his billionaire backers benefit from Venezuela’s oil revenues, he doesn’t care who runs Venezuela.

  2. How Faustian: she wants to make a deal with the devil. How did she win that Peace Prize again?

If she does end up giving it to Trump, Trump will have the unique honor of having not 1, but 2 pretend peace prizes to show what a big special boy he is.

If she’s peace prize material, she’ll gladly give that medal to that vile orange dirtbag to save her people.

You just know that she is going to give him the physical medal when they meet, and he will then have an artisan remove her plaque and add his name onto it, which he will display in the Oval Office. Within a few months he will claim it is his alone and he obtained it legitimately and his entire regime and news media apparatus will brag about his Nobel Peace Prize and tell anyone who says it isnt his is a ‘nasty’ liar and that they are spreading fake news. Will probably demand he is added to the website and everything.

Does someone need to explain to all these people very the concept of a prize?

A winner of a prize, any prize, anywhere, anytime, can’t transfer their prize to someone else. In theory they can give that person the physical medal/trophy but that action doesn’t rewrite history and transfer the prize.

I feel like this is beyond common sense. A child would have no problem understanding this.

For a member of a generation that railed against participation trophies, I can’t think of anything more pathetic than this insecure old man accepting someone else’s Nobel prize. What a fucking loser.

No matter the institute’s policies, the pressure will be overwhelming for her to hand the whining loser her award. Even though he didn’t win it, he and his cult will believe it was god’s intervention that put the trophy in his hands. Worst president ever.

  9. Does Trump really believe that the important thing is the physical medal, not the honour conferred by being selected?

Is he really that material and shallow? Is that even *possible*?

Aaaaand now the Nobel peace prize is a joke.

If you’d give it to someone like Trump, then you probably don’t deserve it in the first place.

  11. So your saying if I buy a superbowl ring on temu it does not make me an official member of the Eagles? WTF this is such a scam! /s

Do Republicans not see how pathetic this looks to the average person?

  13. They gave the prize to a person who only contribution to the world was asking the US to bomb her own country.

This prize is worthless anyway just give to him.

  14. Scared-Room-9962 on

I remember when Reddit collectively orgasmed when she won it and he didn’t lol

  15. Just her entertaining this idea should lead to the institute rescinding it.

  16. Nobel Institute should start issuing ″infringements″.
Not necessarily enforceable. But jot down the real shit-cunts and send them a shameful letter barring them from ever winning a Nobel prize, and go into great detail as to why.

  17. The peace prize goes to whoever puts Trump, his administration and half the Supreme Court in prison.

  18. „The comitee decided to strip María Corina Machado of the Nobel Price as they do not give it away to be passed on like a hot patatoe to war mongering fascists as it would defeat the point of the price that was already a pretty terrible running joke but, we too have limits.“ .

    Is it that hard?

  19. Kinda begs the question about their choice if she wants to share it with a despot.

  20. Was there no one more deserving? Some years nobody get it, maybe that would’ve been more fitting. Would Nobel have approved of it?
