A companion piece to the article posted yesterday.
> A “nightmare” is how Rob Noble of Regina describes the window seat he was assigned on a WestJet economy flight home from Cancun, Mexico.
> In recent days, viral videos have been showcasing the struggles of taller passengers in WestJet’s new 28-inch seat pitch rows. Twenty-one WestJet aircraft have been reconfigured with a varying seat pitch.
> “Crawling into that seat was difficult, even just getting into it,” he said. “I’m a tall guy but that’s not crazy tall, and my knees were full-on hitting the seat in front of me.”
> Noble feels it was a safety issue as well as one of comfort.
> Noble said **a flight attendant, flagged down by his wife, agreed it wasn’t safe** and relocated them to an emergency exit row with more leg room.
Another good reason not to fly West Jet. Fly Porter to a major hub and then give your business to a customer focused airline.
All of that just for an extra row? There should be a standard minimum pitch/width that airlines can’t go below.
Westjet has gotten so bad id rather just fly flair and save money since the experiqnce between flair and westjet is the same but Westjet charges air Canada prices.
Bye bye westjet. This customer will pick other airlines.
At what points as a society do we stop this constant squeeze, bleeding us all for corporate profits. Our only power is where we spend or don’t spend our money. Stop flying west jet
Best part is we can decide not to fly with WestJet!
WestJet is severely hurting with the loss of transborder travel at the moment. Way worse than AC.
Vote with your wallets. If you are a rewards member or own the WJ credit card write and voice your displeasure. If enough people stop buying tickets they will renege on this.
After all of the kudos I’ve been hearing people give porter, I finally gave them a shot a month ago, and was underwhelmed.
Having my knees in the back of the seat in front of me is nothing new, and my porter flight was no different. The courtesy beer or wine was nice, but not a deal breaker for me. Flight crew was pleasant but no different than any others I’ve dealt with.
Of all the carriers in this country, the one I’ve had the best experience with is AC, as unpopular as that may be.
The amount of people I saw bag licking an airline last time this came up and telling people if they can’t afford the extra leg room they shouldn’t complain or fly was pretty astounding. Amazing how many people are happy to be bent over by corporations and governments who have sold them out.
They need to regulate the airlines so that a 32” pitch is required. This is ridiculous.
Budget Airline with premium prices. Don’t fly westjet
Oh fuck never using west jet again lol
God forbid if there was an accident and people need to evacuate.
Not sure what West Jet management is thinking is going to happen but this isn’t the kind of problem that will just go away or that people will „get used too“.
I recently flew to Jamaica and though my knees were not hitting the seat in front of me (5’11) the fact that the seats have no recline ability whatsoever was so obnoxious that I have sworn off flying West Jet in the future.
Airlines treating people like cattle just isn’t going to fly. Pun intended.
Why not just remove seats and cram us into a human mass pressed up against all the walls?
Jump straight to full sardine can configuration.
Flying Westjet now is just a choice to torture yourself. Thanks Westjet execs for making it so easy to now avoid your product.
So the person who originally had the emergency seat with extra leg room got yanked out and put in the more cramped seat? Doesn’t seem right and I wouldn’t have moved. Hasta la vista West Jet
The less people flying around the better. Isnt that what net zero is all about? I fly business so it doesn’t bother me.
