      An interesting thought is that without slavery the modern black population in the us if we assume would be born anyway (wouldn’t happen) would actually be worse of if we excluded the suffering of the ancestors, that’s quite interesting and poetic, the forefathers suffered and now their decenants can live a great life, I mean Ghana isn’t that great of a place tbh

      Puerto Rico is way too high any data shows less than 10% identify as black. The rest of the population is mixed race or white.

      The Argentinian genocide of its black population is still so crazy. Never knew about it until the last World Cup.

      When you realize how many million Africans were sent to the Americas but never had a chance to reproduce because they died in the field. Wow. I’d expect larger percentages.

      I get this is self reporting, but anyone that’s been up and down the east coast of Mexico knows that it’s a lot blacker than this map shows. A trip to Veracruz is enlightening.

      Also, Guatemala Livingston to Rio dulce is severely underrepped.

      Is there a reason why Central/South America didn’t have as much of a prominent black population/culture like the African American communities did?
