It’s hilarious how the PCs still overestimate Crombie, she was objectively a terrible leader who will be forgotten like Del Duca, but they’re still acting like she was some kind of a threat. But I guess collecting a 200k salary for doing nothing is a talent in of itself..
The article makes it sound like they’re not running a race until 2027, since the insiders are already coming up with excuses about how it’s simply „too difficult“ to do a 2026 race.
I’d bet on another weak leader like Crawley winning, the party insiders seem to love self sabotage. Personally I hope Boozary runs, because that means he won’t run in University Rosedale.
“We know that the Ford government is likely going to be at the end of its course and so we fully believe that the leader we elect this time is likely going to be the premier of the province,” said McGarry, arguing the party has ample time to hold a leadership contest.

If this is the attitude the party management has, then the party deserves to keep losing. What a pathetic mentality.
The entire mentality going into this is “we don’t have to put in the effort, Ford’s time is up and we’ll just win, because it’s our turn”
People are exhausted with this kind of politics.
