Too bad AZAL and the Azerbaijani government deliberately levy extremely high taxes and operating costs on foreign airlines, scaring them away from working in Azerbaijan, so people would only fly to Europe with AZAL’s ridiculously overpriced flights.

That is also why a European or an American needs 2-3 transit flights just to get to Baku. All done so AZAL could make money from its rip off scheme.
