Hallo Leute, ich hoffe, ihr habt alle den Schnee genossen.
Ich habe eine Frage zur Schneeräumung auf Gehwegen. Heute Morgen habe ich den Schnee auf dem Bürgersteig neben meinem Haus entfernt (blaues Kästchen auf dem Foto), zunächst war alles ganz in Ordnung. Ich habe es im Grunde gleichzeitig mit meinem Nachbarn gemacht.
Aber Sie sehen jetzt, dass sich auf meinem Bürgersteig Schnee ansammelt, nicht aber auf dem meiner Nachbarn (rote Kästchen auf dem Foto).
Ich frage mich, ob Sie in diesem kleinen Wettbewerb Vorschläge haben, wie ich die Ergebnisse meiner Nachbarn erreichen kann?
PS: Ich habe es mit einem Besen gereinigt, aber mein Nachbar hat eine Schneeschaufel benutzt. Nach der Übung waren es größtenteils die gleichen Ergebnisse, aber irgendwie sind die Unterschiede jetzt riesig. Ich kann nicht glauben, dass es nur daran liegt. Aber vielleicht?

They probably used road salt or an alternative.
Your neighbor used salt, which might not be allowed, depending on where in Germany this is.
They probably used salt. Please note that the use of salt is very often not allowed. You’d have to check your towns Straßenreinigungssatzung to be sure.
They used salt which could be illegal or legal. Depends on where you live. You’ll only get the same result if you spray salt.
You could check if there are Streugutausgabestellen (mostly grey Boxes with orange lits on a street corner, often placed near post boxes) around you. We have one a few streets away for the residents. There you can pick a few Kilos of Sand mixed with salt. Or you could sprinkle some sand/ ash/ gravel. That will not clear the snow but avoid people slipping.

As a German expat having been living in Canada for more than a decade, I do not see any snow in this photo.
A car was parked there and then drove away. Look under the other cars with snow on them. Snow fell on the car and not on the road because the car was in the way.
First shovel and sweep, then salt, then gravel.
Hair dryer
Salt can harm the feet of dogs and other animals, due to how it changes the freezing point of the water.
Do not use salt.

This won’t necessarily solve your problem, but will save your back. Invest in a tarp and shovel your snow onto it, then you can pull it across the snow like a sled wherever you want to dump it. Saves so much energy pushing snow around.
