Ein heute von @EmilyTanalyst auf X veröffentlichtes Video zeigt mit der zyprischen Regierung verbundene Persönlichkeiten in privaten Gesprächen, in denen es angeblich um Wahlkampffinanzierung geht. Das Konto hatte keine vorherigen Aktivitäten und schien ausschließlich der Verbreitung dieses Filmmaterials zu dienen. Es wird beschrieben, dass das Video ohne Wissen der Teilnehmer mit versteckten Kameras aufgenommen wurde. Wer es geschafft hat und wie sie Zugang erhalten haben, bleibt unklar.

What do you mean „recorded with hidden cameras without the participants knowledge“?
Isn’t that the only way these scandals are ever uncovered?
Same thing happened with Avvakum, Syllouris etc.
Tbh it’s not really news.
And also, kind of retarded if you’re spending money on Cyprus politicians in exchange for a „firm stance“ at the EU considering Cyprus has like no power to do anything.
I mean how do people think campaign finance works? You just go to the website and drop 250k on their donate page?
Its pay for access and favors.
There is a name for it and there’s an entire industry built around it – lobbying.
This was posted the day after the EU presidency commencing ceremony, very smart timing!
Possibly its Turkey’s fault.
It makes me wonder, so many politicians are coming our speaking against this, as if they wouldn’t do the same if they were in the same position…
