It’s the „values“‚ of the Carphone Warehouse all over again

  2. Yay let’s praise the corporation that rents out their employees uniforms and have a poor employee experience

  3. Melodic-Chocolate-53 on

Are your employees still supposed to purchase their own uniforms, Pat?

  4. I’m glad they use Irish beef but this kind of self-righteous marketing makes me feel sick.

I had the new Super macs in Clare the other day.

The cheese burger was logthrimacally miles better than McDonalds

I live in the UK, but trust me, Super macs would be my choice over maccys every time

And to allow for this we will be upping the price of our meals by another couple of euro and taking another 5 chips from the tiny portions we already serve.

  7. These “values” do not extend to the families McDonagh evicts or his employees however

  8. All you need to know of the man is that during storm eowyn’s aftermath he charged a fiver for people to use the showers at his hotel.. not any other business or other nearby hotels did that. All let people use their facilities for free.

Their chicken nuggets are basically inedible rn so I wouldn’t be bragging if I was them

Boycott these parasites for the VAT cut coup and poverty wages (plus all the wages deductions)

I love supermacs. I practically got through college on their taco fries but honestly the fact that when you look behind the counter you know most aren’t even making minimum wage always leaves a sour taste. Pay your people Pat.

Pat McDonagh is the first one to run to the media, complaining about anything that might improve the lives of the people he pays minimum wage.

A prick who doesn’t give a flying fuck about community or values, only his own profits.

I think every senior banker or insurer in Ireland has a story about Pat being cheap af, and everyone from Loughrea has a personal story about him. A few of my faves: took a banker from Dublin to the UK to look at commercial properties- rented the cheapest car from gatwick (2 pounds more per day for a sedan, no feck that I want the tiny 3 door hatchback) and shared a room in the Cheapest budget hotel he could find. When the banker was asked why he didn’t pay for his own room he said 1. Pat proper gave out about keeping costs down and the cost of the extra room would somehow make its way back to him (through a higher interest rate etc.) and 2. For the Craic as he knew it would be a great story.

A loughrea local told me that when an elevator stopped in his hotel he drive down himself to supervise the elevator mechanic as he charged by the hour and he wanted him done and dusted in 60 minutes no more no less.

  15. I feel like people are missing the context that this is in relation to the upcoming decision to allow lower quality meat into the country and this isn’t just advertising their food, but the issue at hand

Ok, now look after your staff, pay them a living wage, stop being a snake

It’s a marketing gimmick. They’d stop using Irish beef overnight if it meant more profits. Load of absolute horseshit.

  18. Nice words. As soon as he see’s he can get a better discount though, auld Pat will be straight on to the new distributor and all his talk will be forgotten.

  19. thats_pure_cat_hai on

Supermacs is the kind of company that should all this beef that’s supposedly being imported into Ireland actually come, they will see the cost difference, and just start using it anyways.

This self falletion, corporate PR bollocks where they try to convince us they care does not fool me in the slightest. Especially with how Supermacs treat their employees.
