You can most of the time ask for a payment plan
You haven’t responded to reminders and now crying out laud when lawyers are involved? 545 euro is not just tax those including reminder fees etc
Don’t you receive a letter directly from the customs authority if they put your package into screening?
This letter is from a law firm. I’m not getting it.
Edit: 30 dec seems like a sus date. Most would be on urlaub till the new year. Also, did you receive any previous mail which mentioned the claimed amount?
Also, DHL never pays customs for you. If your shipment goes into screening, the port authorities send you the letter.
Bro.. Troy Gmbh is already a debt collector and the letter states they tried MULTIPLE TIMES to contact you in the past.
Why did you ignore them?
Why did you ignore the previous letters on this matter for months? This is a debt collector. Not sure if anything can be done at this point except ask for a payment plan
That’s strange. Have you doubled checked the law firm, and the troy GmbH if they’re legit? Even then, you either must have received a Rechnung from DHL asking you to pay the custom, or the Custom must have contacted you and asked you to pay directly, all before the package got delivered to you. This cannot be the first time you’ve heard of it…Did they send a breakdown of tax and custom amount?
Most likely Your parents didnt do the proper customs declaration. But usually your Package gets seized by customs and you get a letter from them. If you ignore it they destroy the Package or send it back. It seems kinda sus that you get the Package delivered and afterwards they want Money from you
At least i don`t see a chance that you dont have to pay this. You are already above a usual „Mahnverfahren“.
You can contact them and ask for a „Ratenzahlungsplan“ (Installment-Plan) to pay X-times monthly XYZ €
Okay, man, thing is – this is not the sum you’re owing DHL, but the sum PLUS fees PLUS the expenses of a company going after the sum finding your place and going to enforce payment, that’s why is that expensive. That’s because you got multiple letters, well, okay, old adress, but that’s not their fault. You could have installed a service delivering the mail from sie old adress to your new one or such. In the end, unfortunately, you go pay it or it will get more expensive and possibly taken to court.
They need to collect customs before delivering and if customs are not paid the packet is returned.
This whole letter either a scam or there is something you are not telling
