Bloody archeologists, always blowing their own trumpet…
Today on R4 this morning had someone playing a replica, whilst the device *might* have been capable of the sounds created by someone versed in modern music theory. I think Iron Age Rambo, puffed from marching across the marshy moors, might not have had the puff to coax so many overblown harmonics from a lump of beaten bronze.
Hear me out, I’m not usually one to advocate for messing with historical artifacts, but given the current global political climate, and the total lack of leadership from our current politicians, I’m just saying that if we give it a good blow and summon Boudicca back from the dead, would it really be such a bad thing?
