[The most impactful things you can do for the climate aren’t what you’ve been told](https://www.wri.org/insights/climate-impact-behavior-shifts). Ignoring that we can’t do it without systemic change leaves [90% of potential emissions reductions](https://www.wri.org/insights/climate-impact-behavior-shifts) on the table.

Importantly, things like [voting](https://vote.gov) and [writing lawmakers](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClimateOffensive/comments/1q1ytuh/a_carbon_tax_is_widely_regarded_as_the_single/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) are often left out yet are extremely important and effective when engaged in en masse.

It’s difficult to get the exact number but Canada is adding hundreds of thousands of cars back to the roads today because of coinciding RTO mandates from all levels of government and private institutions like banks.

Sorry to say, I just don’t care anymore about climate change as a Canadian because of the RTO mandates. Our leadership only pays lip service to climate change where they can greenwash profit.

One of the most significant reductions in an individuals carbon footprint comes from eliminating their commute entirely. Taking this option off the board removed the best way for us to reduce our footprint and has dragged our efforts backwards.

We should be rioting in the streets over this.
