  1. What changes for China? Is the US less likely to intervene in the Taiwan strait because they’ve bombed Venezuela? Will they face less international pressure or sanctions just because US did something against international law? China has always outwardly maintained that it would take back Taiwan, it’s not like it needed an excuse to do so.

    They will continue to do nothing, making a snarky remark here and there but no action beyond occasional war games.

    If anything this meant US doesn’t care much about sovereignty or diplomatic pressure when conflicted with their interests, and military intervention is definitely on the table. Given China has been building aircraft carriers, I doubt they are betting on US leaving them alone from the start.
