„Members voted in favour of the ‘collective leadership’ option, with a ‘lay’ chair – who cannot be an MP“

    What a ridiculous headline.

  2. Sensitive_Echo5058 on

„The shock outcome of the leadership vote at the party’s annual conference in Liverpool came after some challenged Mr Corbyn, a lifelong pro-Palestine campaigner, and accused him of being a “Zionist”, apparently for supporting a two-state solution in the Middle East.“

    This is too funny.

  3. Yes, but will the new leader be from the Sultana faction of the Party or the Corbyn faction?

Just because these 2 buffoons aren’t standing doesn’t preclude another inevitable run of infighting from the countries least competent Party.

  4. I have to admit I laughed. All that effort only for the membership to vote against having either of them in charge.

    >A second option, for a traditional sole leader, which would have seen Mr Corbyn and former Labour MP Ms Sultana battle it out to lead the new party, was rejected by a narrow margin.

    >

  5. All that’s happened is they’re getting a leader who’s not an MP, like is currently the case with the greens. But I guess the headline is technically accurate.

I can sympathise with voting for any other option than either Sultana or Corbyn to be leader. There is a list of people I’d be less happy having lead my chosen political party, but its honestly a fairly short one.

That being said, a collective leadership is just going to be a disaster.

  7. RoyaleWCheese_OK on

This is what reddit would look like if it was a political party haha.

  8. This whole thing is an object lesson in how not to start a new party. What with all the infighting and the easily predictable press hatchet job, they just look completely ridiculous.

I’m still not convinced that Your Party isn’t a secret project to discredit the British left.

Corbyn and Zarah wouldn’t even need to be in on it. He’s permanently befuddled and she is a genuine, bona-fide, 100% moron.

  10. LiamJonsano on

I swear this isn’t news and they said this like… months ago, when their conference actually was?

  11. Humble_Dirt_5751 on

There reason why left wing rarely win elections, too busy fighting each other to fight the enrmg5

  12. BoomSatsuma on

    😂

Imagine barring your only two MPs from leading your party.

    Full implosion imminent.

  13. Corbyn accused of being a zionist was not on my bingo card. He’ll be going to bed confused tonight.

  14. Pure_Grapefruit9645 on

We’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune is looking like a pipe dream

  15. And just like that the project is over.

The left now only has a party that wants to disarm all nuclear weapons and pull out of nato.

  16. FrustratedPCBuild on

The new series of The Thick of It is too implausible to be believed.

  17. chopinsladyfriend on

And so the omnishambles rolls on another day. Can Corbyn just retire and can Sultana just go back to Labour now, it’s clear neither of them could even run a bath let alone a party.

  18. Honestly Your party has been a great way to filter out all the BS politicians who just play at being “for the people” so all the ones who are genuinely serious can hopefully get themselves together

  19. Why can’t the left in this country be anything other than a laughable shit show? I’d really like a competent left option please.

  20. ElCaminoInTheWest on

At least Zarah Sultana has proved herself utterly incapable of any sort of political credibility or authority. So that’s one positive.

  21. They can’t even come up with a proper name. A seriously unserious party.

The irony of the Gay Trans Islamist Communist Party having an identity crisis

  23. ash_ninetyone on

You’re supposed to win power first before you start the left-wing infighting

  24. Banning the most popular representatives of your party from leadership is peak comedy. Keep it coming!

  25. Both toxic part of the old system that needs complete change. Let’s stop repeating history….

  26. Ok_Impact9745 on

The left in this country are fuck useless. How difficult is it to run a campaign centred around ordinary working people having a bit more power instead of running a society that panders to our corporate overlords.

But no the left wing are too busy arguing about how loves Palestine the most and who cares most about the trans people.

  27. ShondaVanda on

That’s actually hilarious. I love how the YP membership are just flat out punishing Corbyn and Sultana for their childish bullshit over the past few months.

  28. TheLaziestAdam on

If Corbyn was in charge I would have voted for them, but I guess that ideas been canned.
Ah well, vote for Green it is then.

  29. peareauxThoughts on

I hear there’s a South American unity candidate that’s just retired from office who may be available.

  30. BenButton123 on

There’s a socialist with leadership experience who has just become unemployed who might be able to do the job…

  31. honkymotherfucker1 on

Hilarious that this will probably poison their careers more than anything they’d done prior, I actually agree with a lot of their politics but this whole thing with the “your party” saga unfolding via social media callouts in politician language has been absolutely fucking pathetic to watch unfold.

  32. Whats the point of us having any political parties at all? Im convinced 90% of politicians are people who were too untalented to become celebrities so to get their face in the paper they go to politics instead

  33. aleopardstail on

Coco the clown would be a good choice

assuming Mr Fishfinger isn’t available, or Lord Buckethead

  34. theanedditor on

Every time I read this group’s name I think, „Who’s party? Not my party“. Not because I don’t agree with their standings, but becuase of their utterly ridiculous name.

Apart from that, or maybe including it, they’re like a teenage who paints their bedroom black and hangs posters of Che Guevara without really knowing who he is, just to be „rebelious“. Wanking around, making noise, but ultimately changing nothing.

  35. DeathDestroyerWorlds on

Ok, hear me out here. Now if the country takes a collective leave of its senses and we vote this shower of clowns into power, who will be Prime Minister? Will it be all of them? Some of them, with this collective leadership?

    I’m somewhat befuddled here.

  36. HegemonisingSwarm on

What a laughing stock. Just quit now it’s embarrassing to watch.

  37. This just proves how utterly gutless Corbyn actually would have been as a leader. The fact is that he let Sultana rob his party out from underneath him, which led to this turn of events.

He’s a weak leader, when push comes to shove he just falls over.

  38. Me, a massive lefty „damn we really need a good definitively left wing party in the UK“

Mr bad at running parties guy:

  39. I’m convinced that these two are actually right wing plants, perfectly enacting a plan to split the left vote in as unelectable a way possible

  40. Starmer must love this. It makes Starmer and the Labour Party look organised.
