  1. SS: In the latest comments regarding invasion of Venezuela Trump stated that that the United States is going to be “very strongly involved” in Venezuela’s oil industry. In [a tweet JD Vance stated](https://x.com/JDVance/status/2007447083909841398) that the stolen oil must be returned to the United States. Could this be the real reason for the invasion?

Biggest oil producer in South America with historically bad relations with the US. In hindsight, nuclear weapons would have been a better investment than pumping money into their corrupt army. It’s a lesson other adversarial (to the US) countries ought to finally learn.

  3. Honestly i half respect how straight up corrupt and blasé they are about their own intentions, no false flag bollocks, go in, get the president, blow up the rest and exploit the oil for their gain. No theatrics.

At least this time, there is no veneer of installing democracy and delivering freedom.

    Kudos, there is progress.

This is one reason I like Trump, he’s straightforward with his intentions

Not just Trump, but also Vance who said:

    >*The president offered multiple off-ramps, but was very clear throughout this process: the drug trafficking must stop, and the stolen oil must be returned to the United States.*

Neither he or Trump made any mention of pushing off foreign (aka Chinese) influence in the LATAM region. I don’t know if it’s not a diplomatic thing to say or something.

Was there not a ongoing global move towards green energy?

I thought the Middle East was getting de-prioritised due to this reason.

So, why the urgency to secure Venezuela’s oil? Of course, its to secure its own oil supplies and keep the war machines running, but I don’t think there was any major threat to America’s oil supplies (as far as we know) from elsewhere in the world anyway.

This makes me wonder if this really is preparation and precursor to a larger conflict. Whatever the case, I think this shows that they were serious about the „Western Hemisphere“ in that NSS.
