      the eiffel tower was built on an open space from scratch and the titanic was built in a dry dock, I’m all for old man shouts at clouds because of how long infrastructure takes to get done here but I don’t think this is a very good comparison

      Emblameric of our current era and how we operate as a country.
      China is building thousands of miles of high speed trains, solar and renewables galore.
      The US mega data centers, new space rockets and launch areas.

      Us we can’t fix a bridge/road. HS2 cost 100s millions more than it should andnisnr really being built and is essentially old tech. Hinkley Point and nuclear is snails oace because we build fish discos.

      Eight people died building the Titanic. Then it sank after hitting essentially a large ice cube. There’s a trade off.

      Work takes longer because we need work to be on going, without it being on going a lot of jobs would be lost and unemployment would go right up, this is by design.
